Before you sign
Read the buyer name, purchase price, contingencies, deposit, closing expenses, possession date, and anything to be left behind. Ask questions about unfamiliar language before agreeing.
Before closing day
Work with the title or closing team on ownership documents, mortgage payoff information, and any identified title issues. Independently verify payment instructions using a phone number you already trust.
At the handover
Review the final settlement statement and possession arrangements. Coordinate keys, garage remotes, utility transfers, mail, and belongings. Keep copies of the signed documents.
